Children’s Home of Jefferson County Receives $5,700 LEAD Impact Grant to Support Personal Care Vending Machine Initiative
Watertown, New York (February 28, 2025) – The Children’s Home of Jefferson County (CHJC) is proud to announce the receipt of a $5,700 grant from the Northern New York Community Foundation’s LEAD Impact Grant Program. This funding is designated to support the installation of a personal care machine at the CHJC Community Clinic, providing essential hygiene products at no cost to clients attending appointments.
This initiative addresses a critical need by ensuring that individuals and families who face barriers to basic care have direct access to personal care and hygiene products that promote health, dignity, and well-being. By removing financial obstacles and providing these essentials in a dignified manner, CHJC aims to encourage clients to continue attending their appointments and actively engage in their care journey.
“CHJC saw a need in our community that had to be addressed, and this initiative allows us to provide resources that our clients can access directly,” said Paige Wiley, Practice Manager at CHJC. We are incredibly grateful to the Northern New York Community Foundation and the LEAD Impact Grant Program for their generous support of this critical initiative. This funding will make a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals and families who rely on our Community Clinic—not just by meeting basic needs, but by reinforcing the importance of dignity and well-being in their overall care. When people feel supported, they are more likely to stay engaged in their treatment and take the necessary steps toward wellness. CHJC remains committed to enhancing the quality of life for vulnerable populations through innovative programs and services. This partnership with the Northern New York Community Foundation is a testament to the power of collaboration in addressing unmet community needs and empowering individuals to achieve health, stability, and success.
