CHJC Partners in 125-Mile Adoption Awareness Run
Watertown, NY — October 16, 2025 — The Children’s Home of Jefferson County (CHJC) is proud to partner with Jessica and Greg Hurlbut and St. Lawrence University for the upcoming 125-Mile Adoption Awareness Run, an inspiring event dedicated to promoting adoption awareness and celebrating families who make a difference in the lives of children in need.
The run kicks off on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 3:00 PM at St. Lawrence University, 23 Romoda Drive, Dean-Eaton Hall, Parking Lot H, and concludes on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 3:00 PM.
Spanning 125 miles and divided into 36 legs, each lasting approximately 40 minutes, this unique relay-style event brings together runners, advocates, and community partners to raise awareness for adoption and support adoptive families across the region. A post-run celebration at Dean-Eaton Hall will follow the final leg, providing participants and supporters a chance to gather and celebrate this meaningful event.

CHJC’s Foster Care Program provides safe, nurturing environments for children who cannot remain in their homes. The agency works closely with foster and adoptive parents to ensure children are supported, cared for, and connected to family whenever possible. CHJC offers training, ongoing support, and guidance to help families through every step of the foster care journey.
